Our tutors cover the current ACT’s required English, Math, and Reading sections, as well as optional Science and Writing when those sections are part of a student’s test configuration. We also teach pacing and test-taking strategies for the current format.

We begin with the student’s prior scores, timing needs, and goals, then tailor practice across the sections relevant to that student’s test plan.
3. Current ACT Sections
Preparation covers the three core sections used in the Composite score: English, Math, and Reading. Science and Writing are optional for national testing. For state and district testing, the sponsoring program selects the configuration and may include Science or Writing.
- ACT English: Revision and editing, organization, rhetorical skills, and Standard English conventions.
- ACT Math: Number and quantity, algebra, functions, geometry, statistics, probability, and other tested skills.
- ACT Reading: Comprehension, analysis, and use of evidence across passages.
- ACT Science, when selected or included: Interpreting data, evaluating evidence, and scientific reasoning.
- ACT Writing, when selected: Planning and writing the optional essay.
